I Have A Craftsman Riding Mower With A 15.5 Hp Briggs And Stratton And I Was Cutting The Lawn And It Was Running Great.

It Started Acting Up... running Rough, So I Shut It Off And Checked All The Fluids And The Were Fine. I Replaced The Plug And There Was Still No Change.

When The Air Cleaner Is Off It Pops (backfires Through The Carb) On A Consistent Basis. It Has No Power, Some Black Smoke.

I Thought The Choke Was Stuck, But It Was Not. IT STARTS EVERY TIME... JUST POPS VERY LOUD Through THE CARB

Pleaseeeeeeee Help

Any possibility it could be water in the gas?

Anything is possible... I will check to see. I mowed approx 1/2 acre with no problems on the same tank.

Sounds like kiss is correct, it sounds like water in the fuel, that is where I would start anyway. Remove the carb bowl and you will be able to see if there is water, and , or trash in the fuel.
