HI GUYS,
All of a sudden , I am unable to use my microphone as there is no sound recorded through when I try with sound recorder.onchecking I found that in the recording control -properties,microphone is muted by default ,I am unable to deselect the checkbox there.

I am unable to chat with Yahoo messenger and unable to do lot of things.
So please help me out
My OS is windows xp home with sp2.

What sound card do you have? Does it have a separate volume control application (e.g. my Creative Audigy has "Creative Mixer")?

It may be that something you have installed recently has caused this problem to occur. Can you think of anything you installed recently that could have caused the problem. You could always try using System Restore to put your PC to a state from a fortnight back (you won't lose any data etc.).
