Hello
I have just installed a brand new Hampton Bay ceiling fan. The fan comes on but the light that is underneath doesn't. The wiring system that I had came with a male and female plugging unit. I matched up the colors on the plug but the light that is underneath the fan doesn't come on. Any suggestions?
Thank You

I don't understand the plugging units. Normally the fan and light each have separate colored wires and perhaps separate white wires. Both colored wires must be connect the colored wire in the ceiling, and all the white wires connected together.

Hi
There is a set of 7 wires that are attached to the bottom of the ceiling fan motor. These wires come together in a white square type plug. I also have a set of 7 wires that come together in a white square type plug that come together from the light fixture (both plugs are color matched when I plug them together). I then plug them both together and screw the light into the fixture. When I pull the cord to start the fan - it works; when I try to turn on the light - it doesn't work. I have also adjusted the bottom (where I screw the bulb into) to make sure the metal is touching the light bulb.
Hopefully this information helps you.
Thanks

Did you carefully follow all the instructions that came with the fan and light? Go back through them and see if they mention any more connections. Also, check with where you bought it.

You probably purchased a Carriage House II. I recently did as well and had the same issue.
Problem: 1 of the wires connecting into the 7 pin white plastic connector was cut and did not reach into the white connector. It was the black wire that controlled the light kit. Light kit did not receive power. Check the connectors to make sure each wire connects properly. I had to return my light kit in exchange for another. Worked after that.

1. Make sure you have the downlight wired properly inside the switch housing
2. Make sure the light wire (blue, usually) is properly connected to the power source
3. Make sure all connections are properly seated.
4. Does the fan have a remote or wall control?
