I would appreciate any help at all... I have never been able to have a obgyn exam, awake, that is. The last attempt at trying to make it through without excrutiating pain, the nurses in the office gave me the cold shouler, stopped talking to me and treated me like I had the plague. The doctor told me to come back when my head was in the right frame of mind...
I am now in a new state, and I am so embarrassed since I am in my forties and I don't know why I can't have an exam (By the way, I haven't had sex either)
I am hoping to find someone in the Greenville area of SC... and really don't want to just pick someone in the phone book. I would like to know I would be going to see someone who has half a heart and knows what I am talking about and does not just tell me to 'get over it'. I have already had a hymenectomy, but I really think it has to do with muscles... Anyway, if anyone can recommend a great doc in this area... or has any thoughts at all, I'll be happy to listen. Thanks.

Vaginismus-definitely.

Why did you have a hymenectomy for? I would be interested to know for clarity. I'm lost!

Now for a start, the nurses were pigs as far as I can tell. Go elsewhere!

How is your self-sexlife? Do you masturbate? I get the feeling that you may have some issues that cause you to tense up-how do you go by yourself? Do you use a dildo?/finger when you masturbate?

Sorry for the "probing" but there is a lot riding on your reply to these questions.

Cheers

The hymenectomy was done by a "World-renowned" doctor who told me this was my problem... and that the surgery would be my cure.
As far as the rest of what you wrote... everything hurts. So, there is no pleasure...
Thanks...

Okay. I really think that you need some help as far as sexuality and counselling about your sexual feelings-this is PREDOMINANTLY a psychological issue that is creating physical symptoms (vaginismus) for you.

You need to learn how to pleasure yourself without feelings of guilt YOU NEED to learn how to masturbate by yourself for YOU.

Frankly I think you have been interfered with by so-called experts hymenectomy will only cure amennorhea due to vaginal obstruction-to be frank that doctor is/was a nutbag!

Please get some help therapy-wise FIRST, then masturbate and learn to enjoy it this is the only way I can see you improving your situation-let us know what you intend doing-you need to get this sorted for your own happiness

Cheers and best wishes
