In the U.S. the paper written at the end of a master's program is called a master's thesis. A dissertation is written at the end of a doctorate program.

After you have worked more than a year on an MBA, I'm surprised you haven't found a topic worthy of a thesis. In the program I went through, a thesis had to be at least 30 pages long and done well. We were warned that the topic had to be something that interested us because we would be spending a lot of time on it for research, doing a literature review, defending the topic in front of a faculty committee, etc.

The concepts that most interested me were various areas of corporate culture and job satisfaction, that is, what makes a job satisfying to an employee, while still fulfilling the organization's mission.

Think about what you have studied and what has excited you. That may give you an answer to your question about a topic.

From wikipedia: "In academia, a thesis or dissertation is a document that presents the author's research and findings and is submitted in support of candidature for a degree or professional qualification."

In the UK, the two are mostly used interchangeably, you yanks are weird.
