We just moved into a house. It was built in 1951. The sink in the kitchen is a large single sink. Not replaceable without replacing the counters. It is sunk in with grout and original tiles surrounding it.

Is there any way to install a garbage disposal with only having a single sink?

Yes. Provided a disposal will fit the drain size of the sink, it should be just fine.

You should be able to do this, provided the drain shoe is the same size as the opening in the sink.

One word of caution, though, the drain is likely only 1-1/2" and may have trouble passing the material discharged by the disposal.

If the sink is a regular sink there should be no difficulty in installing the disposal unit. You may have to reroute the trap and drain to pick up the new addition. Growlers concerns about the pipe size is a valid one. I also have concerns. A 2" trap and drain line's recommended for disposals. If you'r going to go with 1 1/2" I suggest installing a wye with a cleanout on the wall stubout. Good luck, Tom
