I have 2 fans in my house and they are identical. The remotes were set up differently when they were installed by the contractor so that each fan (and its light) only works with the remote programmed for it. I have lost one of the remotes (my 2 yr old grandson likes to hide remotes evidently).

Can you please tell me how to re-program the remaining remote so that it operates both fans? I do not have the operating manual.

Thanks for the help,

Paul

There are dip switchs in the remote that match the fan. You need to match both fans with the remote, also Lowe's carries the replacement remotes for $20. I've bought them myself

To access the fan dip switchs , you'll have to remove the flange that up against your ceiling, you'll need a phillips screw driver. Once you remove that you'll see it and all the wires connecting to it, and good luck jambing all that back up in there. Lol

You have to find the receiver in the fan. Sometimes in the ceiling canopy, sometimes in the motor housing, sometimes near the lights. Then match the dip switches to the existing remote. Do not change the remote switches or the other fan will not work. See:
