I have been reading the advice on home repair of this main fuel relay in the honda civic. I have identical problems and symptoms.

My problem is that I can not find the relay. Ive had the fuse block almost completely out, and the relay is just not there, on the front side or back side.

I even went to an on-line parts house and printed a picture of the relay, Nothing like it on the fuse block. I noted there was a smaller square looking box mounted on the rear of the block and it is even mounted similar to the relay. However it's electrical connection comes in on the top, it is square not rectangular and there are less connection blades, lastly it does not say relay on the side. I also noticed that there was a second mounting tab on the fuse block that looked like the relay should be there, I looked up under the dash and could not find it hanging around.

What gives, does my completely possibly have the relay in a different place
Could the relay look different than what photos I have seen
Could it be jammed way up under the dash and I have to look harder.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

See if this helps:

It should look like one of these:

While we find your parts, please enter your ZIP Code at PartsAmerica.com (http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?PartType=598&PTSet=A)

Success, thanks to your good advice.

I finally found the relay, for anybodys future reference it is under the extreme left side of the dash, right above the hood latch lever and below the air vent, very difficult to get to, had to loosen some dash bolts. I don't really know if you have to remove the fuse block to get to it. I already had the fuse block out by the time I found it.

I tried to follow the sound of the clicks, until the clicks stopped. This made it harder to find but sure helped in the diagnosis.

Reheated the solder points, reinstalled (with some choice words) and all is well.

Thanks again
