I'm mike form Florida. I have a toro 6.0hp self propelled gts xl push mower that won't start. The engine will turn over and run for 5 to 10 seconds and then shut off. This problem started about 4 months ago had has gotten steadly worse as time goes by. Does anyone have any information to troubleshoot this problem.

Yes, it is a dirty carb and or fuel tank.

I had exact condition on my 5.5GTS. Mine turned
Out to be the primer bulb from age developed 2
Cracked in it which the throws off the proper
Air/Fuel mixture. This is especially bad on a
Cold engine that needs Less air and more Fuel.
