Do anyone remember a movie called Mondo Carne. It came out in the late 60's or early 70's. The movie was a documentary about unusual practices all over the world. One example showed people in an asian country eating the brains of live monkeys. Another topic showed puppy farms in Korea, tattoo and scarification practices in Africa.
I would be interested to find if anyone remembers the movie or the sequel, Mondo Carne 2?

Hi vegecat
Yes I remember this movie. How could one forget it?
I only remember parts of it though. The one I quote to my friends all the time is how the geese in France had their feet nailed to the floor of a cage and grain forced down their throats through a funnel that was pushed down their throats into their stomachs. This process produced huge and very meaty livers for the french to make pate de fois gras.
I always tell my friends this as they devour this delicacy.
I also remember seeing dogs in cages in restaurants and then seeing a skinned dog lying in a tub of water or marinade. The other scene was a fat queen in some tropical island and the villages kept feeding her to make her fatter. The fatter she got the more she was respected.
Have not seen the second movie.

It was called Mondo Cane (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057318/), which means roughly "A Dog's Life" and the release date is 1962.

Thank you vingogly
Yes I knew the name of the movie Mondo Cane I was just answering to vegecat who was asking.
BUT!! Do you know the movie Traffic. A silent comedy filmed in Europe. I saw it in the late 60s early 70s. It was about the people who were driving to a car Expo in Belgium I think and all the funny things that happened along the way. Would love to see it again.

Wow. Traffic is a new one on me. Netflix doesn't have it and neither does Facets. I'll have to keep my eye out for it.

I must been 12 years old or so in Korea. It was very strange movie. Eating dog in Korea is over rated. This is not a common food/event and from what I have seen it is among uneducated country people.

I remember it very well. It was not the type of movie to be easily forgotten. I remember a scene where a cow's head was cut off with a sword and blood was squirting out in a jet stream.
There was a series of films made using Mondo as the first word in the title. I saw several . I wonder how they would be classified today. Probably PG-13.
