Okay so I am 15 and about 6 weeks ago I started taking loestrin24Fe three days before my period was due. I got my period but it was very normal ( heavy, crampy and lasted 5 days) I had unprotected sex on the 4th day of my period and he ejaculated some in me. Later that night my period was still very heavy so I'm hoping the sperm might have been "washed out". I ended my period at the end of the 5th day and was fine and kept taking my new birthcontrol pill. 9 days later I started feeling a little crampy and started bleeding for about six days. The bleeding was brownish but also very red too and very light. My doctor told me that the pill is suppose to make your periods lighter and shorter.
Im not sure if the light bleeding was another period or if it was implantation bleeding. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet and from the last time I had heavy bleeding (my normal period) I am late. But if the light bleeding was a period then I'm not late yet.

If I am pregnant then I am 5 weeks pregnant. But I have not had any other symptoms of being pregnant.

Help?

When you start birth control it can mess up your periods for a while.
As far as implantation bleeding it is very rare and only happens to about 1% of women and the bleeding is very light.
The brown blood was most likely "old blood" and the red blood was from your body trying to get use to all those extra hormones in your body from the birth control.
It can take a couple of months for your body to get use to these hormones before your period will get back to normal.

Sounds like you experienced what is called breakthrough bleeding with your pill. It can happen for a couple of months after starting it.

You do need to know, however, that there is no birth control that is 100% effective. Some women can and do get pregnant on the pill (I should know, happened to me twice).

As Crystal said implantation bleeding only occurs in about 1% of the women who do get pregnant, and it is still not scientifically proven that it is caused strictly because of implantation. Consider that something that is miscroscopic is implanting, would something this small cause bleeding? If that were the case, we would bleed somewhere every time we get one form of infection or another.

Just another word of advice. I would suggest that your partner still use condoms even though you are on birth control. I got pregnant while taking birth control pills. No from of birth control is 100% effective, so it is better to use two forms of birth control to be on the safe side.

So does that mean my period won't be regular for awhile?
Because I haven't had my period yet this month.

What's the percentage of women getting sore breasts during a pregnancy?

Sore breasts is a symptom of pregnancy, it was the first symptom I got. However, sore breasts is also a symptom of PMS. You can't rely on symptoms alone to tell if you are pregnant or not since pregnancy symptoms resemble PMS symptoms many times.

Oh Okay
Well so far

I'm still taking the pill
And I've had no symptoms of being pregnant yet.
Just a miss period
But it could be from the pill.

This is all so confusing.

You are not alone honey. Hormonal birth control has so many side effects, its hard to keep track of them sometimes. When I was on the pill, I would miss four months worth of periods. It all just depends on how your body reacts to it. :)

I was the same way the first time I got on birth control. My body changed a LOT, and I was thinking to myself "what the heck is going on."

Do you still have the informational packet that came with the pills? If so, read it a little. It tells you the side effects and other information. If you don't have it, here is all the information on it : Loestrin 24 Fe Information from Drugs.com (http://www.drugs.com/loestrin_24_fe.html)

Your period should come while you are taking the non-hormonal pills. These pills are supposed to help keep your cycle regular. :)

Yes, that is when you should get your period.

• The 28-day birth control pack contains seven pills that are either iron tablets or placebos (also called sugar pills). The 24-day pack contains four iron pills. These are "reminder" pills to keep you on your regular cycle. Your period will usually begin while you are using these reminder pills.

This paragraph was taken from the link I gave you above : Loestrin 24 Fe Information from Drugs.com (http://www.drugs.com/loestrin_24_fe.html)

Everything you need to know about this form of birth control is in that link :)

Don't worry, I do not think you have anything to worry about.
I am also 15.
Today is my first day of Loestrin24Fe, I heard some horrible things about it, do you think they are true?

Let's look at the date of the post, shall we? It was 4 months ago, I'm sure she knows the answer by now.
