Hi to all out there.
I have recently put an offer on a house that has various plumbing problems. One of the latest problems is with the cast iron drain stack. Today we noticed that it has a leak in the connection that comes out of the floor. There seems to be a long crack coming down from the joint into the cement floor (the pipe coming out of the floor has a lip or flare to it similar to a toilet flang), is there a way to fix this or does the pipe coming out of the floor need to be replaced i.e. jack hammering etc?? I am concerned about just connecting up to pvc or whathaveyou to change the system over with the crack being in cast iron floor level.
Any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Hoppinsam
