I stopped putting on my Evra Contraceptive patch last month and have been trying for a baby since my last period (4 weeks ago).
I have not had a period as yet and was due on Tuesday 14th Aug 07. I have taken two pregnancy tests, one on Monday and the other Tuesday and both results were negative.

How do periods work after stopping contraception as I have been on this patch for 3 1/2years since I had my son.
Am I pregnant or is my body still adjusting to no contraception? Is the patch different then the pill?

It may take several months for your body to get back into a normalized routine cycle. That does not mean you are not pregnant though. Hope that helps.

Its most likely your body is still adjusting since removing the patch. Give it a little more time and you'll see a change. :)

**EDIT - it generally takes 3 months at least before the affects of contraception wear off.

You could be pregnant. Have a blood test done before you assume you are not pregnant. I have known many friends who have missed their first and sometimes second and third periods after getting off some form of birth control. They were not pregnant. If this is the case don't worry. However, still tell your doctor what you are experiencing because he/she knows a lot more about you then I do.
