In the early 50s I watched a movie on TV that I have been trying for years to get more info on. The only details I recall involve a chemist that would wake a "special" cologne/perfume as a gift to certain people. Unbeknownest to them when the chemist would then release this huge bird he kept in a cave with bars on the entrance to prevent the birds escape. I recall vividly the huge shadow the bird would cast on the rock wall of the cave when released to do his/her master's bidding. The bird would find the people based on the scent of the special cologne/perfume and kill them in a particularly nasty way.
