I have a 12 week old Papillion. She is amazingly beautiful and so loving. She has been in and out of the hospital the first 3 weeks we had her. We have had her home 1 week now and she had been doing great until the last couple of days. She is not wanting to eat. Up until today I could find something she would eat, now she is interested in nothing. I am rubbing Nutra Cal on the roof of her mouth to keep her sugar up but it seems like she is getting weaker. It's hard to tell because this is her usual sleepy time now anyway. I am exhausted with worry over this amazing girl! Help!

Has she had diaherria at all? If so, take her to the vet. ASAP. It is likely to be Parvo. Yes, puppies that have had their shots can still contract the virus. It is very contagious for dogs. The sooner the illness is caught by a vet the more likely the puppy will survive.

Hope this helps.
Good Luck

What does your vet say? I hope you aren't going into the weekend without talking to the vet. If so, try to call tomorrow morning. You and your vet have the additional details to sort out whether to wait him out or if he is to where you must tempt him with rich food. Was the Nutra Cal the vet's idea? You need to be very careful about giving things except what the vet suggests. Many products contain acetophen, which is deadly to dogs. Beware of artificial sweeteners that contain Xylitol, it will drop dogs blood sugar. Since your dog is already under the care of a vet, you need to depend more on him than anybody here for what to do next. Let me assure you that unless a dog is already underweight, usually a few days without eating doesn't hurt anything. His appetite may pick up as the vet's course of treatment picks up.
