My a/c unit outside seems to not working. Its seems to want to start with a clicking sound and a hummed but the fan inside is not turning. Its trying to turn when a clicking sound start but it seems like something stuck. The unit is more than 10 years old and it worked fine before and suddenly there's a problem. I don't know anything about A/C unit. Could anyone help to what's going one with my A/C? Thanks.

Sounds like a bad fan motor, if you try to spin it is it dragging or tight? Is the capacitor ballooned on top (bad) Always replace the capacitor when replacing the motor ,Good luck, Mike

The fan inside is tight when the unit try to start, but when it stop the fan spin free. Bad motor? And what's a capacitor?

Try replacing the capacitor first (this is a round or oval canister with wires coming out the top of it ), it will have two or three terminals on it, replace with the same size which is marked on the side of it, Good luck, Mike
