YES! Waylon was a national treasure just like Cash. Americana at it's best. I don't think people realize what we lost when he died. I do and I listen every day and mourn the loss.
Waylon was Buddy Hollies bass player after the Crickets quit. Waylon had the seat on the airplane but Buddy was sick and talked him out of it so he could get to the next city and get some rest. As Waylon was walking away, he turned and jokingly said, "I hope your plane crashes!" After it did crash, killing Buddy Holly, Waylon went into depression and quit music. I'm glad he finally came back.

They do have a few good songs, but the punk era ended for me with the demise of such bands as the Ramones and the Circle Jerks. I always feel such bands are just attempting to recreate an era they weren't fortunate enough to be born into. They'll never outdo their predecessors, and imitation isn't always flattering. Just my fickle opinions. :)
