I have run into a problem trying to fix the mechanism in the bathtub that catches hair that otherwise might clog the bathtub drain. This is a Kohler product. I removed the round knob that moves the drain up and down. Then when I went to remove the brass screws that hold the plate underneath this, I stripped one screw and the other screw broke off. I was able to use a hacksaw to cut through the stripped screw, but I now have to figure out out to remove the portion of the two screws that are stuck in the screw holes so that I can put the plate back on. I could grab the end of the screw on one side with a wrench and try to turn it, but I'm afraid it will break. The other screw is broken off so that there is nothing to grab. What should I do?

You drill out the screw and replace the entire tub waste assembly. Good luck, Tom
