The fan on my central air unit doesn't run. The condencer kicks on and the blower on the furnace works. Why doesn't the fan work.

We had the same thing happen. The fan outside wouldn't run but everything else did. Our AC unit outside was clogged up with fire ants on the contacts. Something about the "pulse" drawed them to it. It was an easy fix for the AC repair guy. He cleaned the contact and put it back in and recommended that we put insect poison around the unit to keep the ants away. You probably have a bad condenser fan motor or motor capacitor, check capcitor first it is the cheapest to replace, but if it is the motor then replace capacitor as well. Mike
