I have a pre-fab shower basin I'm putting on the ground floor bathroom. The last shower there would back up every one in a while and the waste use to leak under the basin. Is there a way to seal the pipe so if the pipes backup the water goes back into the shower and not under the basin. The last one just had a pipe in the drain. Any help would be great

Hey Gretz,

Are you saying that the old shower just drained into a floor drain that would back up or that the backup from the shower would overflow and run under the basin? How do you plan on connecting the drainage for the new shower?
Get back tome and I'll answer ASAP. Tom

The old showers drain just sat into the drain. It wasn't sealed. When the drain would backup the water would go back into the basin and underneath the basin. I was looking for a better way to do this. The pipe from the drain is 2 inches. I found a 2 inch to 3 inch rubber pipe that I was going to connect to the drain on the floor and the drain on the basin. This should give me a good seal
