I cannot download picture from my camera even when using a card reader... I am running windows XP... help

Do you have proper drivers (www.driverguide.com) installed? If a window doesn't open when you insert the card then you might need to install the drivers, check whether there is a cd that came with the camera. If there is, install the drivers and software.
