I just bought a bike that had sat for some time, I purred some oil into the cylinder via the spark plug hole, instead of letting it burn out, I came up with this great plan to sop it up with toilet paper like a wick, well a small piece got left behind. It started up and sounded fine for a minute then, not so. I pulled the plug and it looks like a ring is sticking up at the top of the cylinder. (the number 2) It may not be, its hard to tell. I thought I would ask before I tried to start it again or before I removed the head. My question is what would be my best course of action.
Thanks
Nate:eek:

Compression Test, Ckeck spark plug. One or the other. Plug is easy. Don't know of something that eats paper/safe on cylinders, hope someone will post.

Ya, I have got it going now. It didn't like the paper\I have planned on taking it down to the local bike shop and have them do a compression test it seems like it should be getting more power than what it has.
