Hi, I am a Filipina who's mother is a portuguese. I applied for my Potuguese Citizenship and submitted all necessary documents to the Portuguese Embassy last April of this year. It so happen that the Portuguese Embassy here in my country (Philippines) was relocated in Jakarta Indonisia last may. I have wrote them a letter inquiring how will my application be like now considering our distance. They told me it will take about a year before the Portugal would grand and approve citezenship. However I am confused nowadays thinking of the much expenses I have to incurred when I need to go to jakarta. And besides I'm a bit confuse if my application will still be given the chance. My brother had applied also and until now he hasn't got any news about his application where in fact it was already more than a year he had applied and paid for such.
Can you please enlighten me as how will my application be like now. Do you think we can still need to hold our hope or need to make a follow up as often as we can. Am I just beginning to be parranoid of this? Please help me.. Really I'm confuse. My 2 siblings have gotten their citizenship already last March here at Portuguese Embassy in Manila before it was relocated in Jakarta. Thanks for your time, and hope to hear from you...

Your case is very strange because the applications to obtain the Portuguese citizenship should not take this long.
