I have an Amana heating and airconditioning whole house unit. The unit is 3 years old. THe A/C has been running fine all summer. I came home today, after a poweroutage, and ther LCD thermostat has all of the characters lit. All of the time, temp, and incidators are all lit up. If I turn the swith for the fan to "ON" the fan does start and run. If I turn the switch for "Heat, OFF, Ccool" to cool, nothing happens. I have turned off the breaker and turned it back on, but nothing changes. What to do?

You may have no power to the thermostat even though it is lit up, you may be operating on batteries in the stat. Check to see if you may have popped a breaker or fuse .Is this a package system (all in one unit) or do you have a separate furnace? THere are fuses near the A/C unit in a box usually mounted on the wall or side of the unit.
