View Full Version : 91 Accord won't start on hot day

Hi,

I have a 91 Accord that sometimes won't start on hot afternoons when I get home from work after I park it at the train station. It has plenty of battery power and cranks fine but just won't start like there is no fuel. Sometimes after several minutes of trying, it will finally start. Stepping on the gas pedal or not makes no difference. I tried all that but it just seems like a electrical problem. Otherwise, I have to come back later in the evening when it's cooler and it will start in the first try. Can somebody please help me?

Am no expert, but I had the same problem with my '93 Integra. It was the main relay.

Classic symptoms of main relay failure. It's located under the dash, left of steering column (hidden by silver cruise control box, which needs to be removed). Here's what it looks like and costs:
