How can I find out why there is air spitting and sputtering and blasting out of all my fixtures - including the toilet?? I had a hot water heater installed recently, and my water softener isn't working except manually... I bled the air from the pipes when the water heater was installed months ago but the problem is getting WORSE!! I have well water and a rust - iron problem...

Could be that if you have a submersible pump the supply pipe in the well from the pump may have a hole in it and not holding water in the riser and then allowing air to get in, then when the pump comes on it pushes the air into the tank. This is just a possible cause, other people will give you other possibilities, good luck. Mike

Do you have the same air problem in outside faucets? If so, then the well/pump would seem to be the source as the HW heater would not affect those.
