Hi, I am new to this... but I read a few questions/answers and I thought all were pretty helpful.
Does anyone know the answer to this?

My husband & I have been trying to get pregnant for over 6 months now. The first time we conceived.. was in November 06 & in jan 07 I was told it was a tubal pregnancy & had to be removed. Since then, as did before, my period has always been on time, 26 day mens. Cycle--well I was due to come on on the 25th of July & nothing. I had the cramps, and sore breasts which are always my symptoms right b/f coming on my pd---but my period never came. Today still sore breasts.. but the cramps stopped. Could I be pregnant... or could something else be going on? If age matters... I just turned 25 last week. I really don't want to go through the disappointment of taking a test & it being negative... so I just haven't took one...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

If you won't do the home test, then go see your doctor. And no matter what, you have to be prepared for the disappointment of not being pregnant. I sure hope you are though.:)

I know you don't want to take a test hun, but it's the only way to be sure. None of us are psychics, so we can't tell you yes you are, or no you aren't. It is possible that you are pregnant. You just have to take that test.

When you get to feeling up for it, take an HPT about a week after your missed period. Make sure you use your first morning urine, it is the most accurate. Otherwise, you can go to the doctor and request a quantative blood test. That is the most accurate way of detecting pregnancy. Good luck hun and I'm hoping for you :)

Most likely a doctor will not order a quantative blood test for you, until you have taken a home pregnancy test, and have missed more then one period. You could take a qualatative blood test at your local hospital, no need for doctors orders to get that one, not much more expensive then a home pregnancy test, and is more accurate. (though false answers are still a possibility. Just slimmer) Since you are only 5 days late, I would suggest giving it 2-7 more days, then if still nothing, go get a test. (as it is not unusual to be late, or even to miss a cycle all together. Regardless of whether you have always been regular in the past or not.) I suggest the digital test that gives the read out " pregnant" or " not pregnant" as the results are easier to see sometimes then the line tests. However, there's not much of a difference other then that, so its really up to you. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out
