I am a 17 year old lad who was a late comer in striking puberty, I think I was around 14 years old when I began which to me and many many others is surprisingly late. Anyway, I'm older now and becoming overall very sensitive because:

1. I look very young, many believe I am 14 and it is irritating as I have a job and people stare regularly. Next year I will be able to go clubbing/bars but I am paranoid about people as they will think I look incredibly young. This is lowering my overall self confidence.

2. I have a normal amount of hair around the pubic area but not very much underarm, little on the legs and virtually none on the face. Having more facial hair will definitely make me look the age I'm meant to supposed to 'look'.

3. I am small (5'6) for my age and weigh only 120LBS but I have a muscular body tone e.g I have well toned arm/leg muscles. I have went to the gym for a year and take enhancing vitamins but to no avail with no weight gain or body growth.

Basically, I need advice on what to do about my various problems lol - Any useful help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Stuart.

Okay you are within a normal (perhaps) a little late growth period.

There is very little that you can do to rectify this, growing a beard may make you look silly. You may need to investigate further bodybuilding information (and I'm not talking about drugs either). A high intake of meat and carbohydrate-based material may help with adding some muscle tone/bulk. You could consider working out with a friend who knows about bodybuilding-properly.

I am at a loss as to how to really help you as I was exactly the same as a teen! I'm 40 and now I still find it hard to bulk up using weight training! The muscles and bone growth is helped by testosterone, if you are low, then that's it, unless you get human growth hormone injections-I'd advise against it though.

On a side note, Do you know Henry Rollins? Henry Rollins - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_rollins)

He was the same as you and I, now look at him! He looks like a crab on stage-very musclular. Just through weight training and a change in attitude.

Looking young isn't so bad for instance getting a child bus fare, or child prices for anything.eg movies(unless its an 18) plus when you have ID (18) they can't say no tou buying booze, win win situation
