I'm looking for a laptop that will help me with my course at uni, (computer games development) I've been to a few shops and had a look online, in the shops they said I would want one with a 'dedicated' graphics card because it would be better than a normal 1 with double the MB and one guy said look at apple macs, does anybody know if this is true or have any information to help thanks.

Yes, but you don't really explain what you are looking for i.e. main use and budget?

I'm not asking you to look for one I'm just asking your opinion on what should I look for in a laptop relative to my course comp games development/programming

As I said it really depends.
As ever it's a case of numbers, you go for the biggest ones your budget can take.
CPU - Core2
RAM - 2 Gb
HDD - 100 Gb
GPU - 256Mb Geforce
Screen - 17"
DVD+/-R

There's a few things to look for as a minimum.
