About a year and 2 months ago I perchased a 12 year old Appaloosa mare. I've been working on cantering her and I can control her at the canter. Sometimes she breaks stride but that's all. Anyway, I have been trying to teach her how to pop over some little jumps. I have been lunging her over some poles and cavalitee and over two and three poles on top of each other. She's been really good over the poles and cavalitee but when she tries to jump the three poles on top of each other she takes off right but then her back legs crash through the poles. Is there any way I can fix this and how can I get her to jump over higher jumps? Please help!

If a friend of mine can train a Tennessee walker as a hunter/jumper then you should be able to get that appy going too, but you know how stubborn they are. Are you sure are shifting your weight off her rump in time?

How many hands is she? Sometimes shorter horses have a prob clearing higher jumps.
But Ill ask my daughter for you she used to ride english went to shows and won a lot of blue ribbons. Now she switched to western pleasure reigning, barrels and halter.
She also trains and breaks and sells horses if you no any one that's looking for a horse.
She love appies!
