I'm looking to buy a Gomboc (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gomboc). But I can't find anywhere to buy one from.

Anyone have any ideas?

Gomboc will be available as of October. If you sign up for the Newsletter on GOMBOC.EU - A gömböc - magyar találmány, az első olyan homogén test, amelynek csupán egy stabil és egy instabil (összesen 2) egyensúlyi helyzete van. (http://www.gomboc.eu), you will be notified when exactly. The first edition will be a numbered series produced by Rapid Prototyping technology.

I haven't ever held an object made by RPT, is the quality very good?

RPT is currently the only reliable way to produce this special and sensitive shape. The Objet printer is extremely precise: has less than 0.016mm error (see Objet Geometries - 3 D Printing and Rapid Prototyping (http://www.2objet.com/) for more details on the technology). This new technology has been developed for prototyping sensitive machine parts. That is why you normally do not have RPT products at home.
By the way, it seems you do not need to wait until October if you would like to get the shape -- you can sign up now at GOMBOC.EU - A gömböc - magyar találmány, az első olyan homogén test, amelynek csupán egy stabil és egy instabil (összesen 2) egyensúlyi helyzete van. (http://www.gomboc.eu) and will be contacted with the offer in a week.

It's not really used for anything. Just a curiosity. See here:

Why get one though both the glass and the turtle rock

Why get one? Because it's a mathematical curiosity. The same reason Capuchin wants the Gomboc. Just for fun. Not everything has to have a practical purpose.

I also have a set of 'Napiers bones'. No reason, just for kicks.

May I ask, what turtle you speak of?

I think there's a company that manufactures and sells them. I got this one gave to me years ago. Google Klein bottle and you may find it.
