Okay here is the problem. st off we are in FL so its hot as hell! We have central air (2 zone system) both condenser units are outside and the air exchange/handler is in attic in garage. The problem is that the condesor is leaking out of a small hole that is just below the copper water line that goes into the handler. Being that is hotter than normal and condensation is overly high because of this. The drain pan fills up and this makes the overflow sensor engage and thus turns off the handler and then A/C blows warm in house. We called tech and he has been out several times but says everytning looks normal and that there is not any signs of leaks. He then vacums water out of drain pan, resets sstem and we have cold air for a couple of days until pan fills and now I go up and vacum water out and reset system. THis is getting old, I am courious if it is normal for the water to come out of this hole and if I put a PVC drain into pan so the water will not fill up to shut off switch. I asked the A/C guy to do this but he said it was not necessary, I say it is if I have to keep going up into garage attic.

Is the main drain line plugged up? Do you have a secondary pan under the air handler? Normally there are two drains on the air handler ,one is a primary and the other is a secondary to be used only in case the primary restricts. Mike

All the water should always go down the condensate drain. You most likely have a plugged or restricted drain line that backs up after several hours of usage. There should be a cap on the drain line that you can remove that's usually near the trap. Try pouring water down the pipe and see if it backs up. You will all so want to check the other end of the drain, it may drain outside and could have something blocking it as well. Sometimes pouring some bleach down the drain will help clear it out. Is the trap itself clean? Has anyone looked inside and checked the drain pan for problems? It may be rusted and causing the leak.

You have not mentioned any thing about a drain line coming from the air handler, is that small hole under the copper line the drain off the air handler? Is it dripping into another pan under the air handler?
