For one thing, you go to the school that you want to attend and speak with them about your situation. Just because you have been convicted of a felony doesn't mean that you can't get some type of financial aid. You wouldn't have to tell your story to everyone who is an official at the school. Just ask that you would like to speak with someone in financial aid and tell only that person about your situation.

If the financial aid isn't going to happen because of the rules that may apply concerning obtaining aid for various reasons, like the type of felony of which you were convicted, you may still be able to get a scholarship.
