My 11 year old daughter just got chicken pox. During the same time she got them, there was a strange cut on her bottom gum. It started bleeding. We went to the docter, and she said it might be a chicken pox lesion, but she doesn't know for sure.
My question is: do chicken pox lesions spread onto the gum?
Thank you for taking time to read this.:o

When my daughter was about 8, she got a case of cold (herpes) sores in her mouth, gums and down her throat. She had never had chickenpox, but the two are related by the herpes simplex virus. I am just warning you to keep a close check on her. It was a miserable time for her, and she couldn't eat. The Dr. thinks she may have gotten it from sharing a pencil, and maybe chewing on the end of it, with a child that had a cold sore.
