Eat as much as you can. Then eat some more. Then, DO NOT stick your finger down your throat.

Eat more food but healthy food. Do not start woofing down fast food because then your just making yourself unhealthy.

Why are you worried about your marriage?

Can you describe in detail what exactly your looking for, what is the nature of the marriage and have you sought out any medical attention, counselors and doctors? If not, maybe now is the time.

First ignore XenoSapien, he probably doesn't have a problem gaining weight so he doesn't understand your problem.

If you have the body type where you eat as much as you want and you don't gain any weight the only thing you can do is increase muscle mass. Which means exercise and lots of it. So if you want to gain say 30 pound follow an exercise plan like you need to loose 50 pounds. It sounds counter productive but since you don't have any fat to burn your body will require you to eat more food to build the muscle mass. You should eat healthy and lots of pasta and protein. See you doctor before you begin any exercise plan and any other warning I should give you before giving advice.

It is not about suffering illness, but this does need to be followed up with the advice from doctors and counseling. If you want to change medical intervention is needed.

Unless you are doing something to make yourself thin it isn't your fault. Some people are just thin, as some people are just heavy. Since you in your 20s even though you feel healthy it probably would be a good idea to see a doctor, that way he can rule out any possible medical reason for you being so thin like a thyroid problem. If he finds nothing medically wrong he still might be able to suggest a healthy diet and exercise plan for you.

Xenosapien,
Telling the op that she is bulimic when she is trying to get help isn't going to help her, she has heard that answer before. That's the problem many skinny people have is that they are thin and really can't gain any weight. They ask for help and people accuse then of being either bulimic or anorexic. So they stop asking for help. Also most people that are anorexic or bulimic don't ask how to gain weight they ask how to loose weight because even though they are very thin they still feel fat.

First off, get your terminology correct, Michael B. I said ANOREXIC not bulimic; there is a difference. And if you read my rating I put on one of her answers, you may have a clearer understanding of my position.

You said anorexic in your feedback but telling her not to stick her fingers down her throat is implying that she is bulimic. So you accused her of both in my book. I have my terminology correct. I still think you were rude to someone who was asking for help, but I'm glad you apologized to her.

Bulimia: disease causing insatiable appetite for food.

Like gluttony, michaelb. It has nothing to do with making oneself vomit.

Anorexia: extreme loss of appetite; CAUSING loss of appetite; CAUSING a lowering of appetitie.
{source: The New Lexicon Webster's Encyclopedic Dictionary of the English Language}

Bulimics DO NOT force themselves to vomit. Anorexic's do.

Since you don't know and you think you do. I've included links so you can look it up yourself and regardless even if I'm wrong about my definitions you were rude and you know you were rude which is why you apologized and that was my only point.

Bulimia nervosa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulimia_nervosa)
Bulimia nervosa, commonly known as bulimia, is an eating disorder. It is a psychological condition in which the subject engages in recurrent binge eating followed by intentional purging. Purging can take the form of vomiting; inappropriate use of laxatives, enemas, diuretics or other medication; or excessive physical exercise.

Anorexia nervosa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anorexia_nervosa)
Anorexia nervosa is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes an eating disorder characterized by low body weight and body image distortion with an obsessive fear of gaining weight. Individuals with anorexia often control body weight by voluntary starvation, purging, vomiting, excessive exercise, or other weight control measures, such as diet pills or diuretic drugs.

Nervosa attatchment is the purging part. I never used that additional word. My answer is correct by itself. Your answer is correct with the additional word, 'nervosa'.

Try using a protein powder or a nutritional supplement line Ensure or Canation instant breakfast along with your normal meals. Use milk instead of water in hot cereals, soups or sauces. Mix cooked, chopmeat, wheat germ, nuts, beans, or cheese in your casseroles, pastas and side dishes. Add at least 300-350 calories a day to your normal intake. Hopefully your not skipping anymeals, eat a good breakfast, for instance omeletes, filled with cheese, beans & veggies like potatoes, eat avocados and peanut butter along with your meals, try shakes, and ice cream for snack food, add nuts or seeds to these. Foods like omega-3 fatty acids sources like salmon, tuna, flax and walnuts, try poultry, legumes chickpeas, kidney beans, bagels with peanut butter, whole grain cereals, pastas, rice and cornbread. Fruits like canned in syrup and dried fruits are also good for you to gain weight. And est veggies like olives, potatoes, pess, corn and squash. Try increasing the size of your meals a little at a time, so you get use to larger portions.
