I have a Maytag dryer that has had no problems until recently. One early morning I got up to go into the bathroom and found the dryer was extremely hot. It had not been turned on, but was set in the more dry mode. I unplugged it and then it decided not to dry at all. Would tumble however. A local appliance store recommended unplugging it and mentioned to never leave a dryer on auto unless turned to the off position as the dryer cannot sense there are no clothes in it, hence so many house fires.
I had never heard of this. The dryer works perfectly when on the timer and heats. We always now make sure it is turned to off after using even in the timer position.
Problem? Someone turned it back to the more dry mode and now again it will not heat in either position, timer or auto. It still tumbles however.
Any ideas to trigger it to work?
