All my life I've had issues with my birth control. So after I had my son, at 17, my doctor put in an IUD. After 2 years and numerous cyst, he decided it had to come out. He put me on yaz, it made me incredibly sick and very moody. I took myself off it. I haven't been on anything for a year, but I'm engaged and getting married in 10 months. The last thing I need to do is get pregnant, so I went back to the doctor, a different one because mine moved to another area. And he suggested I try Seasonale. Because I've been spotting and having irregular periods. I told him that birth control pills make me sick. The patch makes me throw up within 10 min of having it on, I never stopped spotting with the shot and the IUD causes cyst that would rupture (very painful might I add). He told me I would have to stick out the sickness, it would eventually go away. I'm miserable. It's been less than a week and I'm so sick. I can't eat anything... WHY DO I GET SO SICK from stupid birth control??

Have you tried the Nuvaring? Are you on low hormone BC?

I have tried the nuva ring, it was a long time ago. And yes all the birth control is low hormone

Sounds like you are ultra sensitive to the hormones. Do you plan to have children in the future? If no, getting your tubes tied is about the only for sure option that won't involve hormones.

There are contraceptive foams and sponges. Used with care and in concert with condoms, you can be relatively safe.

They won't tie my tubes, I 'm only 22... and my soon to be husband would like one more. I on the other hand wouldn't mind not having another one at all. We've been having un protected sex for over a year and not gotten pregnant, but I know that my luck will soon run out. I just feel like poop! Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I can wade it out.

He's "probably" right because it can take several months for your body to adjust to new drugs. You've had issues in the past though, so it makes me wonder.
That being said, IUD and Yaz have the worst reputations for side affects, so maybe that was the problem. Give them a few weeks (if you can stand it). If not, check out this book - Barnes & Noble.com - Books: Taking Charge of Your Fertility, 10th Anniversary Edition, by Toni Weschler, Paperback, 10th Anniversary Edition (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780060881900&itm=6) It explains a lot.. including how to avoid pregnancy by charting.

I know how you feel exactly, girl! Ive been on just about every type of birth control out there and have become violently sick from it every single time! My body can not take any type of horomone assosicated with pregnancy, which really makes no sense at all since the doctors say that I am "probably" still fertile. The worse part is that I HAVE to be on it for medical reasons because I have severe ovulation pain. They won't even give me a hysterectomy because of my age, so I know how it feels to have no choices.
The best thing I can suggest for you to do is to use something low dose and non-oral helps a ton, like the NuvaRing (what I use). Other than that, you just have to get a prescription for neasuea medicine and pain killers.
It sucks
