Hi guys,

I'm 18 years old and have been with my partner a year. He has never had another sexual partner and I have only slept with one other person, always protected.
I have a vast amount of problems with the 'downstairs' area, and wondered if anyone can help me. I have seen a doctor about some of the longer-standing problems, to no avail.
Firstly, what I assumed was my period ended 17 days ago (lasting 7 days, normally lasts 5) and I started bleeding really heavily yesterday with no signs of letting up anytime soon, but large clots. I have had very heavy, thick discharge for the last few months as well as extreme itchiness. My partner and I have not had sex in a very long time as this is almost ALWAYS very painful and sometimes I have light bleeding afterward. I am also having severe back aches for the last two weeks or so. Could this be related at all?
If anyone can shed any light on any of this I'd be extremely grateful.

It sounds as though you may be having a miscarriage. You see there is no protection that is 100% effective.

If you have had discharge that includes itching, that is a sign of a yeast infection. If left untreated this could be the cause of your problem too.

Time to get to the doctor pronto.
