I started brith control last Sunday and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex on Wednesday.. is that enough time for the birth control to start "working" or is there a chance that I could get pregnant? And how high of a chance?

If you read the packet that comes with your birth control I am fairly certain that it says you should use a backup method for the first month of taking it. So since you only waited 3days. You probably have as good a chance at being pregnant as if you had used nothing at all.

No, you can still get pregnant if you have your period.

You can still get pregnant on your period it's not as likely as some of the other times but it is still possible.

If you had taken action in the first 48 hours you could have gotten the morning after pill. Your probably to late for that now, your just going to have to wait and take a pregnancy test.

Most women are not AS fertile on their period, but it is still possible that you could get pregnant. Now know this, even though you are taking birth control, whether you have been taking them a week or a year, you can still get pregnant for they are not 100% effective.
The best thing you could have done was read all of the information on the pill. Why did you put something into your body before you knew the side effects, time it takes to start working, etc. When taking any kind of medication, read the information packet before taking it.
michealb is right, you can take the morning after pill if you are not out of the time frame, which is 72 hours. If you are out of the time frame, it is just a waiting game from here hun. If you are late for your period, take an HPT about a week after missing it. Make sure you use your first morning urine, it is the most accurate. Good luck! :)

The information on the packet might say 7 days; however, my doctor told me to always use a back up form of birth control for the first month. Yes, there is a chance you can be pregnant but you will just have to wait and see.
Next time I would advise you to read labels and information on anything before using or taking it.
Also, if you have to take antibiotics for any reason that will make the birth control ineffective.

Yeah I went on birth control and they told me at least 7 days and I searched it on the internet and it said that it is not fully affective until the first year your on it. But whatever my boyfriend hates condoms so we have no other choice I've only been on them for like 8 months and I haven't gotten pregnant yet. Good luck
