You say you have no hot water pressure, does that mean that you get some water out of the faucet but its just not very strong, and if you are getting a little water is it hot or warm.

Until I know this I will not have an idea whether it if a problem with your heater or a stoppage in your water pipes somewhere. Please answer.

From reading your question, it sounds like something is blocking the flow. Has there been any work done about the time the problem started? A valve could have been left closed, or some crud knocked loose. Go to the drain near the bottom of the heater and open it. If you don't get good pressure there, work from the inlet back. Newer heaters have fittings on the inlet and outlet that are to reduce heat loss from convection currents. They could be blocked. Remove them. I would pitch them as likely to do more harm than good. You could clean them up and replace them.

Note, due to expansion and contraction, it is never good to have the inlet closed unless the outlet is open and a hot water tap. When the water in the tank changes temperature, something is going to give.

Did you shut down the water heater for any reason, then turn it back on? There may be a clog in the w/h shut-off.

How old is your heater and does it have heat trap nipples? If you have no hot water at all throughout the house then that puts the focus directly on the water heater. You have checked the cold water stop to see if it's open haven't you? If it's open I would then shut thye water off to the heater and take a good hard look at both hot and cold nipples coming out of the top of the heater. Is the hot water nipple hot to the touch?
