How much would a mechanic charge in a auto repair shop in labor to replace the timming gears & timming chain on a 1985 Cadilliac Sedan Deville, millage around 100,000 miles?

You can figure on being charged around five hours flat rate for the labor. I don't know exactly how much for the parts: figure anywhere from a hundred to ahundred fifty, or so. You may also anticipate being charged for some coolant and associated disposal fees. You may also want to consider new drive belts. And make certain the belt that drives the S.I.R. pumpis tightened properly, because that belt drives the only pulley that drives the alternator (not really a good design)

Good luck!
