I was wondering is there a way of finding what age is my dog.
I found my dog in the streets and my dad called the animal shelter and they told us : the owners left for Australia but they didn't tell us his age or anything. We are pretty sure it's a purebred and it's a weiner dog.

Thank you for taking it in. Age is hard to tell. You may as well get it to a vet. If it has a rabies tag, the vet that issued it may be able to give you a complete medical history. Vets can go some by the wear and tartar on the teeth. Occasional cleaning and never having real bones can leave the teeth in much better shape than younger dogs. A dog with a graying muzzle and droopy folds of skin under the neck will be at least 5-10 years old.

You can also guess by the appearance of their eyes.If you see cateracts or whte spots on the pupils.Vets can usually guess within a few years, which is better than not knowing.Your dog needs to visit a vet, just to be sure he is healthy and parasite free. This the time to ask any questions you may have on your furry friend.:p
