Hi all,

I`ve recently installed a Vista Ultimate and felt that XP was better, so as normal, formatted the harddisk and installed XP. At 1st, after the XP reboot after the first installed, there`s this message ` Error loading operating system`. So I thought I just use `FIXMBR` and re-install XP. But now halfway through the `39mins left` my computer shutdowns by itself... I`ve tried a lot of ways and its still the same... advice.

This type of problems are unique and we can't always pin point the problem directly but offer educated guesses and from past experiences.

I would recommend you to get a copy of ubuntu, run the live CD and if it works install ubuntu by formatting the hard disk and if successfully install then try re-instaling windows XP. If it doesn't work then let us know!

Download ubuntu (www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download) or get a CD (https://shipit.ubuntu.com/)

Ok, I`ll try. But to let all know, my initial Vista drive letter was C:, but when I load the XP installation CD, it recognize as D:. I think its still the MBR problem. But I`ve a few new HDD, already tried installing 1 of the HDD with XP just now, but still can't installed it. Now I`m thinking it's a problem with my mainboard:(
