It could need freon. First I would let it run while it is cooling. Check and make sure the evaporator fan is running. When it stops cooling I would check the evaporator for ice. If the fan is not running this is the reason. Now remember when you have door open to check the fan you will have to push the door switch in with your hand as most have to be depressed for fan to run. The evaporator ices up and reduces air flow therefore no cooling can take place. I would move unit away from the wall and clean the condenser and fan at rear of unit. It must be very clean to cool properly as well. Post back with results and will proceed further. Good Luck

It could need rrefrigerant. It could also be because of the evaporator fan not working as well. Look inside unit and see if fan is running. YOu will need to depress the door switch with door open for the fan to run. When it stops cooling, look at the evap as see if is iced up. If the fan doesn't run the evap will ice up. Also you will need to move ref. out from the wall and clean the condenser and fan at rear of unit. It must be very clean for unit to cool properly as well. Verify that that fan is running also. Post back with results and we can proceed from here. Good Luck

Hello Doug

I did what you said and it work. But after the freezer make ice for some reason it start to melt. If it's the freon how do I change it or where will I get some from?

Have you got a thermomenter you could put in freezer and check temp and different times. What is the temp when ice starts to melt? At that point does temp continue to rise until you unplug it? Should be -5 to +5 except when in defrost cycle. Did you check to see if is is on the evaporator when it stops cooling? If you do need refrigerant added you will need to call in a tech to do this. You have to be EPA certified to add it. (Government regulations)How old is this unit?
