Hello I have a Hampton Bay - pretty sure it is model #55295 (comes with remote forward/reverse) - the light just went out and I can't figure out how to get the globe off to change the light bulb. I swear we had a professor, an IT guy and another idiot (that's me) who should have collectively been able to figure this out... classic joke on us
Advice much appreciated... thanks!

The globe rotates, then once it lines up, it slips out. It's a pain and may require some gentle force.

Thanks for asking the Same question I was going to ask... It really takes some thought as to how to change the bulb... Even the people at home depot had no clue as to how to do it... Well the bulb lasted me 3 years so I should be go to go for another 3... thanks Jay

Put on some rubber dishwashing gloves and rotate the glass globe counterclockwise until it stops. Then the globe just drops off.

How do you change the bulb on the Hampton Bay Sidewinder 54" ceiling fan, model #459-670/04889? I have tried twisting counter clockwise and am not having any success. Thanks!

I understand why people are having problems. Here is what you are probably doing wrong.

You are just rotating the glass.

You should actually rotate the metal plates that are holding the bar in place. It is a whole globe assembly.

If you rotate just the glass all that happens is that it goes around and around.

This is the only correct answer on the internet to remove this type of globe. Turn metal decorative pieces (3) along with glass globe counter clockwise.
