My best experience ever would have to be walking in the fog with my late best friend when we were drinking iced tea with silly straw. Worst experience (where do I begin:p) I guess one of my bad ones was the first time I ever got in trouble at school.. I cried. Hahaha!

Bad Experiences

When I was 18 months old I pulled a tray of fresh made tea from a shelf. Thanks to my older brother shouting at me the boiling water just missed my face and hit the right side of my body, badly scalding me. My heart stopped twice (so I've been dead! Lol!) and I was read my last rights. I still bear a kick- scar on my right arm now!

Really messing up and getting lost with two of my friends in snow and the dark up Scafell Pike and taking 9 hours to do a 3 hour descent. Hitting the brink of hypothermia. Nearly dying. Still... I want to try it again!

Good Experiences
Spending time in the Falkland Islands - the most serene and unspoiled place I've ever had the privilege to visit - watching Killer Whales hunting seals at 5 in the morning is something I'll never forget. Being followed by vultures was... scary... though! Lol!

Visiting Sheffield to see someone I hadn't seen for nearly 5 years and despite having man-flu having an amazing few days there. Falling madly in love with that person, realising she's someone I want to spend the rest of my life with, then moving to Sheffield to be with her.

Any time all my mates get together for a big booze-up! It's always a good laugh! Roll on this weekend! Lol!

Oh so many more in both categories! Ha ha!

Jul 31, 2007, 10:12 AM
One of my best experiences was going sledding with my family in the winter time and making snow angels and having snow ball fights.

Another one of my best experiences was on the beach with my husband, at night. OK nuff said on that one.

In addition, another one of the greatest experiences was going down the Grand Canyon on mules with my family, and spending New Year's Eve at the bottom at Phantom Ranch. UNbelievable.

Oh, Going to Costa Rica with my husband, my best friend and her husband. WOW what an amazing time.

OF course the most amazing, life changing experience for me was becoming a mother and holding my babies for the first time. I realized God all over again in those moments.

Meeting and Marrying my husband, creating a family with him

THE WORST EXPERIENCES:
My parents getting divorced
My sister attempting suicide
Losing my father in law
My grandfathers both dying
Fighting with my family/best friends
My dog dying
NOt doing well in school
Losing my friend in a plane accident
Never saying goodbye

Best experiences : The birth of my children, Getting married, hanging out with my best friend Andrew, naming my second son Andrew after my best friend died, joining the Navy because that's where I met my husband.

Worst experiences : The death of my stepfather, the death of my best friend Andrew, joining the Navy because I got kicked out (the Navy is both best and worst.. lol), my real father leaving us for another woman, HIGH SCHOOL was a sucky experience.

Best Experience - holding my son after a difficult delivery

GEEZ CANADA, are you trying to butter me up? LOL LOL I don't think I am worthy of being anyone's hero and you give some pretty insightful advice yourself. BUT what a sweet thing to say!!

Careful, my head is getting bigger. Just kidding.

My experiences have made me who I am, good, bad and the ugly. I cannot apologize for it, I just keep on living. Hopefully I can find a way to share my experience, learn about how to live in truth, awareness, and love.

THE WORST THAT TURNED INTO THE BEST EXPERIENCE

MY mother telling me she is gay.

I hated her for so long and blamed her for the divorce.

Now, I recognize how limited I was in my understanding of people's difference. I am now much more accepting of others and I value those people that are so vastly different than me. My mother has shown me what unconditional love really means.

Well, you will be my hero for the month of August:D
And my worst experience has taught me how to move on and grow stronger in life. Although to be quite honest if I could bring him back, I would:(

The pressure is on, so hopefully I don't end up looking like a fool. LOl But thank you for the vote of confidence!!
I know exactly what you mean about that. Sometimes I would really love to have my friend back, rather than learn the lessons that came from his death. I know I am supposed to move on, grow spiritually and help others in some way. I think part of me wishes I could be in the next existence already, to see him again and say what I never said. But, my life is here, the time is now and most importantly, I must learn to live in the moment. It is easier said than done. NOt once in awhile, but all the time.

OH by the way, I LOVE LED ZEPPELIN, many late nights listening to that!!

WEll then, ROCK ON MY FRIEND!! One of my favorites by them is "Your Time is Gonna Come..." LOVE IT!! I think their music got me through some of my worst times in my life, and made them a little bit better.

Canada_Sweety
Jul 31, 2007, 11:58 AM
Same here! Most of my friends who like Zep hate "Your Time Is Gonna Come". I love almost all classic rock bands actually.. actually,I think it's safe to say all.
I shouldn't say this publicly but I left a message on my friends machine earlier with Robert Plant singing "..your time is gonna come...." and since she doesn't like Zep she's jsutgonna freak out.:D In all fairness though, she taught me how to prank people so this is reaping what she sews:p

YOu can leave that song on my machine ANYTIME@@!!

Lying, cheatin, hurting, that's all you seem to do.

OK now you got the dang song in my head!!

Just as long as your prank isn't one of her worst experiences ever, she should survive. LOL LOL

Cancer... Cancer was my best and worst experience of my life. I know, sounds kind of funny for cancer to be a best. But it was. It made me grow, made me strong.

I HATE it when people say "Oh, I am so sorry." You know why? Cause I am NOT sorry!!

I didn't have to shave my legs for 6 months (chemo), needed a new hairstyle (chemo), and ALWAYS wanted bigger breasts!! LOL

Worst: My Childhood, Cancer when I was 19, Losing loved ones (G-Grandma, Grandpa, Dad & brother-in-law all in one year), having a miscarriage at Thanksgiving (Sounds bad but it was kind of good-- but it showed me that I COULD get pregnant after cancer took part of my anatomy. Plus, I have an angel to love)

Best: Growing up, Being in remission, Gaining new loved ones, Getting Married, getting our "baby" puppy, working my way through college, and having my own life that I can fill with love. :)

It is interesting how life can bring so many troubles, but the way we get through them brings us awareness and an understanding of true joy and love. It seems that your young life was turbulent and traumatic and you turned it into a great learning experience. We all have a lot to learn from that kind of positive attitude and the character you obviously built from so much pain and suffering. I will be more thankful and aware in your honor.

1 st Worst experience: Having my five year son almost die and the horrific pain he was in. 2nd When my dog had to be put to sleep. 1st Best Experience: When my son went into remission and seeing him pee , and pee and pee. 2nd opening my heart and home to animals, the pain of seeing them suffer is worth giving them hope and a better life. Also that I am raising 3 kids who will be helpers of the world and am converting my hubby into being a animal lover. He just recently made a dog that I found a nice comfy place in our basement to sleep and sat with her and scratched her head and petted her. Instead of saying hurry and get rid of it. Our whole family is better, kinder and gentler for being around animals that need us.

Compassion is one of the true virtues in life. IT sounds like you and your family have made it a value in your home for all, humans and animals. YOur son sounds like a true survivor and you are a hero of a mom. May God's love and strength continue to surround your family and bring you closer. YOur hubby sounds like a big softy underneath..

Aug 7, 2007, 11:46 AM
Well he wasn't always. I guess all of the flea bitten mongerls I have dragged in over the years have gotten to him. Lol Now my kids even bring them in mostly cats but some dogs as well, birds and even squirrels, and mice... oh my gosh we are animal lovers!

shatteredsoul
Aug 7, 2007, 11:51 AM
Well if we were all animals lovers than more than half of our animal species wouldn't be either endangered or extinct!! We should all be like you.

That is one of the reasons we are here for, to help our men realize all the gifts they have stored underneath their rough exteriors. Good for your husband, patience is also a virtue. Let him know, what you give out comes back three fold. So, you should have some good coming your way!

shatteredsoul thanks for the kind words. I have meet some great people because of animals, truly the animals have helped me more than what little I have done for them.

shatteredsoul
Aug 7, 2007, 12:30 PM
YOur welcome! How funny is it that the animals just be themselves and they help others, they don't have to try, or expect anything in return, they are in some ways superior to us. They just give love and don't hurt anyone or take more than they need. Why can't humans learn from those creatures we take for granted everyday! I wish we honored and celebrated animals the way Native Americans have in their culture. I think we have so much to learn, yet so little time..
As a young girl, I took care of an abandoned horse for awhile before someone came and took him away. I was so close to him and I felt so sad when he was gone. I don't understand how people can be so cruel. You are right, he gave me love and all I did was feed him and brush him and talk to him. He was such a majestic creature. Yes that experience has stayed with me.

Self explanatory don't ya think? What are some of your experiences (recent ør not so recent) that were good, bad and ugly. Experiences with family ør friends ør pets... anything goes:)

Best experiences-childhood,my school/college years, working years,being a wife and a mother.

Worst experience-a few months during my training and the less said about it the better.
Being betrayed by close friend...

What does not belong in either best or worst is the balancing factor in our lives.

I have read all the posts in this thread and I would like to say that knowing what each one of you has gone through has made me stronger and more appreciative of the good things I have had in life.
It really helps put things into perspective on what is important in life, knowing that someone halfway across the globe is going through so much pain.

The worst are things I don't like to talk about, pretty bad, and there isn't just one
The best were when my children were born, although before they came around my teenage years were hard but great.
All of the experiences I have had have made me learn about right and wrong, love and hate, and taking responsibility for my actions good or bad. Maybe some day I can come out with it all, but not today...
All of you posting here are wonderful and courageous human beings for whatever was put on your plate you ate it up! Hugs, Start
