My husband and I recently separated (we have a 2yr old who lives with me) and though visitation isn't an issue, child support is. I can't afford a lawyer for the divorce right now but can I still get child support if we are separated (in PA)? Also, he pays child support from a previous relationship (about $320 monthly). Would I be getting the same amount or would the courts make an adjustment between both of his children. I would hate to see him left with nothing when he is done paying for both kids but I too need just some support in this matter.

Thanks,
Kbol

Not sure... here is the way for calculating CS in Pennsylvania:
1Net Monthly Income of Non-Custodial Parent
Minus
2Amount of monthly child support paid by Non-Custodial Parent for children from a prior relationship
Minus
3Monthly cost of family group health insurance paid by Non-Custodial Parent
The second child gives less than first.

But the income of custodial parent does have an impact, too
