Well Firestone Does. Jusy so everyone Knows there is No Magic Diag machine The Technician Has to Evaluate information from the cars computer to come up with a diagnosis. It is not as simple as hooking a computer and Printout come out of it with "Replace Water Pump" So next time you are at your local garage give them guys a break

It's called "Going back to basics 101"
Amen on what you're saying, brother, but on a day to day routine, I'm grabbing that scanner more than 80% of the time.

Very good point. It still amazes me how little the general public know about cars and how they function.

With the knowledge that's available on the information highway, you'd think more people would take better care of their prized ride!

Think about this: We go to the doctor's, some people, perhaps anywhere from a few times a year, to perhaps a few times per month. That would be unfortunate in and of itself. And the doctor's are revered and tells you how to take better care of yourself: eat right, excersize, rest properly. And we do. We try to keep our body better.

But, we use our cars, or some form of transportation, every day! Yet how many out there can prove to me, on the spot, that you can check your tire pressure? Show me you've kept up with other tire maintenance, oil changes, filters, etc. We work, some, nearly a full day during the week (some more!) just to make the car payment! Am I right?

Yet a lot of people are hesitant to spend anything more than the bare minimum to maintain that car you use just about every day.

It can be time consuming, but if you don't want to find a good, qualified, certified mechanic to help you keep your ride in relatively decent shape, well then you might just as well keep shopping for, but shop for your next car.
