Hello,

I live in Texas and had a daughter in Colorado with my girlfriend, back in 2004. We are still together but still not married. We both have agreed on giving me sole custody of my daughter who now is 3 years old. In Texas, what are the steps? I've heard of a 16 page document called "parenting plan". Would that be enough? Thank you

That sounds like a good start, but make sure you check into intrastate custody laws, and spend time with what Texas law says about custody. There are links that will give you great information on my website. Look at my profile to go to my site.

XenoSapien, You mention links on your website, I will be honest except for very bad music, I did not find any easily marked links for Custody laws. If you are going to be sending people to look at your site, be sure it contains information that is related to the question.

My dear father, pause the music at the bottom and scroll back up. I'm trying to behave about promoting other sites per founder of askmehelpdesk.com's request. There are some on the main page, such as findlaw.com and administration of family and children's rights. Many more are found on the Good Read Links Page.
