Cat Tigger came from shelter with issues. He had been kept in a stack of carrier boxes with other kitties for an extended period. In his two years in our household he has needed many alterations. Food must always be available. He has been on a perscription urinary formula for 1 1/2 years. He has a specical Buddha Pod litter box and scoopable litter that he likes. This helps keep the urine inside the box since he aims up.
Recently he began spraying many vertical surfaces around the house. Urine test showed no crystals and no signs of diabetes. I have also begun using Feliway. Spraying it on wall corners but it seems to have no effect.
I would consider trying to adjust his diet, but he won't eat anything but the dry food. Not even tuna or chicken or milk. He does like weeds that I pull from the garden and give to him. And a small amount of catnip that he gets after I clip his nails. He is an indoor cat.
I got homeopathic drops to calm him, but he gets so upset when I try to apply that it seems to make it worse for him.
Cat psychic says he misses the past kitties no longer in his life and he "grounds" himself by spraying. He does have a kitty companion in our household and they play together regularly. Tigger also is active and likes to "hunt" little pompom yarn balls.
Any suggestions? I'm at my wit's end with him.
Thanks!
